By Train: Yonkers is on the Hudson Division line of Metro-North. Trains leave Grand Central roughly every 20 minutes or so. The trip takes about 20 minutes on an express train and 35 on a local. If you take a local, make sure you get off at the main Yonkers Station (the stop just after the Ludlow stop in Yonkers).

From the station, walk (or direct a cab) two blocks on Buena Vista Avenue to Hudson Street. Turn left (east) on Hudson and proceed three blocks. St. John's Church (1 Hudson Street) is on your left - between Riverdale Avenue and South Broadway. (The Sharing Community is located behind the church.)

By Bus: Beeline and Liberty Buses make regular stops on Riverdale Avenue, South Broadway and Hudson Street.

By Car from New York City: Go north on the Wets Side Highway. Pay bridge toll and enter the Henry Hudson Parkway - still proceeding north, through the Bronx. Keep a watch for the Westchester County border, a half-mile north of which the Henry Hudson becomes the Saw Mill River Parkway. Continue another 1/4 mile on the Saw Mill to Exit 5 - Yonkers Avenue. The exit is on your right.

The exit ramp for Yonkers Avenue makes a 180-degree curve and at its end you will be at a stoplight facing south: turning right onto Yonkers Avenue going west and proceed as follows below.

By Car from North or Car from North or East: Take the Saw Mill Parkway south to Exit 5 - Yonkers Avenue. At the end of the exit ramp, bear right onto Yonkers Avenue going west (toward the Hudson River), and proceed as follows below.

Once in Yonkers: Stay on Yonkers Avenue for 1 mile through 8 stoplights (ignore the fact that its name changes to Nepperhan Avenue when the two streets merge). You will begin to descend a long hill and at its crest on the other side you will pass City Hall. Continue one more block to Riverdale Avenue. Turn right onto Riverdale and proceed south 1 block to the next light at the intersection of Hudson Street. Turn right. St. John's Church is on your left: turn into the parking lot and continue left to the rear of the property to the more modern gymnasium building. The entrance is through the lobby on the right.
