Counselor will engage unsheltered homeless individuals and others in need
that are referred or walk in to our Homeless Outreach Service team (HOST).
The program operates 7 days/week, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., to provide access
to social services and local community resources, advocacy in obtaining
entitlements, and/or temporary emergency residence for homeless individuals.
She/He is responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Shelter and housing
services in the management of case management and supportive services in The
sharing Community’s HOST program. This includes assistance with coverage of
program services as the need arises; coordination of services with other
components, identification of training needs, reviews of documentation and
data entry, team building.leadership and program development.

Job Description
The Site Monitor assists the Site Supervisor in
assuring the security, repair and cleanliness of the building, its equipment
and systems, and the comfort and security of its occupants. She/he monitors
access and egress, negotiates interpersonal disputes, arranges the serving
of meals, administers occupant mail and messages, and all other activities
of daily living. She/he intervenes in emergency situations.

Job Description
The Transportation Coordinator (TC)/Driver is
responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the organization’s
vehicles, assuring that they are clean, safe, and properly maintained at all
times. In addition, the TC/Driver transports shelter guests to and from the
various DSS district offices and to authorized appointments; assists guests
in moving into housing placements at the time of discharge; transports
program supplies and donations. Check each vehicle daily and submit
completed Vehicle Condition report on each. Fill fluids and air as needed.
Review needed repairs or maintenance needs with Hudson Street Site Manager.
Verify odometer readings with scheduled use and sign-out sheets. Schedule
regular routine maintenance of all vehicles; arrange for repairs. Daily
‘round robin’: transport shelter guests to district offices and authorized
appointments. Provide vehicular orientation and road test to newly hired
staff who will be driving organization’s vehicles. Pick up donations and
orders as needed.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job
Requirements
Bachelors
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling and 3 year experience in HIV
related services; Master Degree in Social Work or Psychology preferable.
Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS and substance abuse issues; Must be familiar
with Transtheoretical models of behavioral change; Computer skills a must.
AIRS skills is a Plus. Good oral and written communication skills. Valid

Outreach Educator will conduct street and community outreach, to provide
prevention and education, both general and advanced particularly targeting
minorities, women, and young adults in the southwest Yonkers community. Must
