Volunteer
Our Homebound Meals project
needs volunteers willing to make deliveries on a weekly basis. On your
assigned day you would pick up meals, at the Sharing Community, for 6 to 10
recipients between 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm. and deliver them to persons who are
unable to prepare their own meals. It involves a commitment of about an hour
a week. To volunteer, please contact:
Jaime Ruiz-Perez, (914) 963-2626 ext.212.
Can you cook or scrub pots
and pans? Our Soup Kitchen is always on the lookout for volunteers who are
willing to help us prepare, serve and clean up the midday meals we provide
to the 230+ people who come to our doors each day. Helping us out in this
way is an important contribution. To volunteer, please contact:
Nadine
Burns-Lyons, (914) 963-2626 ext.222.
Like almost every
non-profit, The Sharing Community has more Clerical Work to be done than we
have staff available. Can you help out a day (or even a half day) a week
filing, word processing, stuffing envelopes, answering phones? If so, we'd
love to hear from you. To volunteer, please contact:
Lenora Johnson, (914)
963-2626 ext 245.

Please note:
One of the unique things about The Sharing
Community is that we use all private contribution for direct services to our
guests - mostly for the purchase of food supplies for the Soup Kitchen or
toiletries for our H.O.S.T. Program. All administrative and overhead costs
are paid from other sources, which means that
100% your contribution will be
applied to services for the people we serve.
