Housing and Eviction Prevention |
|
The
Sharing Community focuses on
building for the future with the people we serve. We offer a variety of
permanent and transitional housing - nearly 100 units in all - for
individuals and families with special needs. Each site is different in
program design and the supportive services at each site is distinct. Each
provides housing for a slightly different target population. |

Rent Subsidy and Eviction
Prevention
Our new HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS) project provides
funding to assist individuals and families to retain their housing, despite
escalating rents or intruding financial emergencies. We can provide either
ongoing shallow rent subsidies or onetime emergency grants. A housing
counselor works with each recipient, as does one of our case managers, to
assure that each recipient is maximizing the benefits to which he/she is
entitled and is taking steps to achieve sustainable independence.
